Garlic - Early Purple Seed 2nd Grade (3 Bulb pack)

2021 Crop Situation: We have had limited rust present. We are satisfied with the early garlics and we have some seed grade available, limited stock! We have taken accurate photos with a matchbook for you, our customers to be able to make an informed choice before you purchase seed from us. We will remind everyone, that rust does not transfer through the seed, and instead is a fungal spore that lives on live allium plant material. This season we had heavy rain at the wrong time, most of our garlic has "opened" as you can see from the photos. This can happen, and from past experience still produces good quality seed. 

This is an early garlic. It is a perfect complement to our main crop garlics because just as these varieties are sprouting and losing their fresh flavour, this garlic is ready to be harvested! It has an identical growth characteristics to Early Pearl also growing in the open artichoke shape opening up pre-harvest. 

Sow in March-April. Plant cloves15-20cm diagonal spacing pointy tip up in aerated, fertile, well drained soil that gets plenty of sunlight. Make sure soil is moist and then apply thick mulch directly after. Cut flower heads when emerging for larger bulb size, or keep for seed bulbils. Harvest Nov-Dec. when leaves start to die back. Store with roots and tops on to cure.
