NZH A staple in our garden as they can fill gaps when you run out of storage onions. A perennial that is best harvested at the base with a knife leaving 4 cm behind. It will regrow almost before your eyes. We have them in our herb garden and add to salads like a chive or cook in stir-fries, soups, or sauces. We eat these almost every day!
Sow June-September into trays. Prick out to 4cm spacing and transplant when a good root system has developed. Plant somewhere with other perennials in clumps at 30cm spacing. Another great food forest understory. plant.
