NZH Prolific producer of large green seeds in green pods, plants can get over 2 metres high. Originally came to New Zealand in 1863 with Scottish settlers. Best eaten cooked, although if harvested early, are delightful raw. Great in soup, stir-fry, steamed, or made into hummus.
Sow in August-October for Spring and Early Summer production or in January-Febuary for Winter production. Direct sow at 25cm diagonal spacing or sow into trays and transplant when true leaves emerge to same spacing as above. Does best trellised for support.
