OH A climbing bean (2.5m) sent to us from the Heritage Food Crops Research Trust a few years back. Most striking characteristic is the bright pink pods at green shell out stage. A good addition to our dry bean collection with a creamy taste and good texture for bean dips with a squeeze of lemon and fresh herbs. Long flat tan beans when dried.
Sow in trays in glasshouse in September or direct in the garden when chance of frost has passed. From trays prick out when true leaves appear and transplant into fertile soil at 15-20cm spacing under a trellis for support. For autumn crop repeat sowing in January/February.
