NZH. We received this seed from Rob Hammington, the late NZ seed Saver from Hamilton. Originally from the South Island as the name suggests and apparently it can grow year-round in Christchurch. A strange name as the term Sno, lead me to believe that this pea is a snow pea, when in fact it is not, but rather a snap pea! It is a prolific producer of beautiful bicolour purple flowers which grow into fat juicy peas that you can eat pod and all. Perfect for kids who like to snack straight off the plant which can grow to 1.5m height. Great in stir fries if you can get them into the kitchen.
Sow in early Spring and Autumn for two crops per season. Sow into trays and transplant into garden at 5cm spacing in rows 30cm apart or direct sow at the same spacing. Trellis support needed.
