OH As the name suggest, this spinach really shines in the colder months. We plant in late summer to insure all winter long harvests. A French heirloom first listed in 1883 Vilmorin-Andrieux’s book, Les Plantes Potagères. This variety forms rosettes of very large green, moderately embossed, almost smooth leaves. They have a nice texture and delicious flavour, can be eaten raw or cooked. A great addition to your winter garden, or sown in early spring for early greens.

Sow in early spring and early summer for Autumn/Winter supply. Sow in trays and prick out to 4cm diagonal spacing when true leaves appear. Transplant at 20cm diagonal spacing into fertile soil.
